Base: IIM Mumbai, Powai, with field and consultation duty. Age is relaxable for exceptional merit by up to two years, and no further. Working knowledge of Marathi is desirable for all positions.

The application is a single page, and all of it is checked before a verification code is sent, so having these to hand makes it one sitting. What you type is saved in your own browser as you go, so you can leave the page and come back to it.

Two PDFs. Your curriculum vitae, up to 5 MB, and a writing sample of up to 10 pages and 10 MB, sole- or lead-authored. Without work experience, a term paper, dissertation chapter or course project showing your own quantitative work is accepted; for Project Manager, a one-page note on a project you have run.
An email address you can open now. A six-digit code is sent to it before the application can be submitted, and your reference number, your acknowledgement and the written test details all go to the same address.
Your date of birth, and a mobile number of ten digits.
Your qualifications, up to 9 of them: the level, discipline, college, university, year of award and marks for each.
Your experience in years, including the figure the position asks for — each is named against its position in the table above.
A statement of purpose of 100 to 500 words, naming two or three schemes or policies of interest. It is typed into the form rather than uploaded, so it is easier to draft it beforehand.
Two referees, one of them from your most recent employer or supervisor: name, designation, organisation, how they know you, email address and phone number.
Your present address with its district, State and PIN, and your home district and State.
Associate only: the courses and marks in statistical methods and data science that satisfy the qualification, and whether you have working knowledge of R, Python, Stata or SPSS.

Certificates and mark sheets are not uploaded with the application. Candidates called to the campus round bring them in original.

How candidates are selected

A computer-based written test is held on 11 October 2026, taken remotely under proctoring, lasting two hours. Part A is a cognitive abilities test common to everyone. Part B is a subject paper: quantitative and data interpretation for Associates and Research Associates, policy and scheme analysis for Senior Associates, and field ethics and judgement for the Project Manager.

Shortlisted candidates are announced on 13 October and called to IIM Mumbai on 22 or 23 October for a campus round, which may be an offline test or a group discussion. Only those who qualify there go on to the panel interview. Selections are notified on 24 October and joining is on 5 November 2026.

The written test is a single sitting with one subject paper for each category. A candidate may apply for one position only.
